About Us![]()
Campus Activities Council strives to continue the legacy of excellence created within the University of Oklahoma. Founded in 1971 by the University of Oklahoma Student Association, CAC was created to be the programming board of the university that designs and initiates campuswide events for all students. CAC now programs 16 of the most exciting events on campus including Big Red Rally, Homecoming, Parent's Weekend and Sooner Scandals.
CAC is made up of 29 council members and more than 300 committee members headed by a chairperson elected annually by the student body. CAC has two offices in the Conoco Student Leadership Wing of Oklahoma Memorial Union, located on the first and third floors. Event chairpersons are appointed at the end of the fall and spring semesters after completing an application and interview process conducted by the current CAC council members. Event committee appointments are made throughout the year by individual event chairpersons following an application and interview process. All students who apply for an event committee position are guaranteed an interview.
Praticipation in Campus Activities Council is an amazing learning opportunity for all students, whether you are an incoming freshman or a transferring senior. Not only will CAC help you get plugged-in to what’s happening on campus, but you also will gain a valuable perspective into how such an institution as the university operates. The knowledge gained by being involved in CAC is invaluable and has numerous applications in life after college. CAC is also a great way for students who are unsure about a major or career path to test the waters and explore interests. As a part of CAC, students can gain experience in numerous fields such as financial planning, fund raising and development, public relations and graphic design.
Students can find current committee applications available and the dates that the applications must be completed and returned in the Applications portion of this Web site, or in the Center for Student Life on the third floor of Oklahoma Memorial Union.
